I made a design for the Löwenbräukunst jubilee Beer label competition.The donkey pays homage to the rebellious spirit and to the donkey that accompanied Ernst Sieber in the youth demonstration in Zurich in 1980, embodying the spirit of the Opera house riots that inspired Löwenbräukunst. The orthogonal grid echoes the brick façade of the Löwenbräuareal. The paintbrush tail nods to Zürich’s Dadaist roots and to Lolo, the Montmartre donkey-artist, reminding us that art thrives on wit and reinvention. Didnt win but was fun.
